Nerds Unite!

Well clearly I should have trademarked “Face” while I had the chance, but it’s nice to see that you’re all finally on board here. I was a little nervous when Little Face made her grand entrance a few months ago that I was going to be forgotten, but now that baseball season has rolled around I’m back in full force!

So, what’s been going on since we last talked… I’m sure you all heard about the whole “Face of MLB” thing. Was that seriously a competition? Do they know who my Face is? One word: RIGGED. Moving along…

Next and more importantly, I either have a lot more influence than I realize, or it’s possible that my frames are psychic. Remember a few posts ago when I said the A’s needed to do an ESG giveaway or “Hipster Day” at the O.Co? Well, it’s happening. Tomorrow is #NERDPOWER NIGHT (check out the deets here…http://mlb.mlb.com/oak/ticketing/nerdpower.jsp) . Finally, getting the respect I deserve! Victory! World domination! Too far.

I’m pretty popular so all of the special ticket packages have sold out, BUT you can still attend the game and get your nerd on! I’m dying to see all of you 4-eyes out there sportin’ your specs. Bust out the pocket protectors and come watch some baseball!

Don’t forget to take pictures of your geeky-selves, there may be a giveaway happening in the near future.

Talk nerdy to me.

Rally Specs

I’ve gotta be honest here. If you saw my last post, you’ll see that I may or may not have gotten a little time on MLB. I won’t lie; I don’t hate the tv time. Finally! ESG: making a name for myself, doing big things, saving eyes lives. I mean, I’m not expecting a call from Steven Spielberg anytime soon {Stevie, baby, have your people call my people}, but it is definitely nice to be recognized.

On another note, it has come to my attention that there is a growing trend amongst A’s (and Eric Sogard) fans. It may not be as big as the Bernie *yet*, but it’s much, much better than planking. Rally Specs. Remember that silly thing you used to do with your hands as a kid? Where you flip your hands upside down and give yourself glasses? Welp, it turns out that mindless little hand gesture has become a legit way to show your Sogard support! While slightly less dangerous and much less exhausting than “Balfour Raging”, the Rally Specs are slowly making their mark at the Coliseum.

Seriously, the A’s have the BEST fans! My face and I can’t wait to get back to the Coliseum to see all of the Rally Specs, and of course to win some baseball games. Tweet Eric (or Kaycee) your best Rally Specs pictures and his favorites may make their way into a future post!

Until next time, keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Unless that enemy’s a Giants fan.

Why Me??

I’m baaaaack! I took a short hiatus while we settled into our new place, but man are we excited to be in Oakland! There’s not much I love seeing more than the freshly mowed grass, cleanly dragged infield, and most importantly, the fans at the Coliseum. My face [Eric] and I are really excited for this season, it’s going to be a good one; I can feel it in my frames.

Today I decided to touch on the one question I hear Eric get asked the most, “Why are you so handsome?” Alriiiight. “Why don’t you wear contacts?!” Helloooo people! If it’s not broke, don’t fix it!

Let’s all take a minute to give Eric a little credit (and me a little more appreciation), and understand that he’s weighed out all of his options. I give him 20/10 vision. Beast-mode. He just doesn’t see as well with contacts as he does with me (phew!). Lasik only guarantees 20/20, he’s considered “high risk” due to astigmatism and some weird “pupils dilate larger than normal” thing, and if they screw something up? Whoosh! There goes his career!

Moral of the story? I’m awesome. Ok. Real moral of the story: I work for him, so that’s what he’s going with, and I’m not mad about it. I’m also still waiting for an Eric Sogard glasses giveaway at the ballpark. Forget bobbleheads, let’s have Hipster Day at the field!

On a side note, instead of signing autographs after tomorrow’s game, Eric will be doing fans taxes. (Just kidding, E.)

Welcome to my view!

image002

Welcome! As you may or may not know, I ever so gracefully rest on the face of Oakland Athletics infielder Eric Sogard. Not to be mistaken for the somewhat less-hairy Daniel Radcliffe… or John Denver.

I live a pretty busy life, and see a lot of awesome things, places, and people.

You may often hear me using the words “ours,” “we,” or “us.” By these I mean Eric and me. I’d like to think that we are one, considering I play a fairly large role in his life. Let’s face it. I’m kind of a big deal.

I’m really excited about this blog, and the chance to share the spectacular happenings of my life. (See what I did there?) I’ll try my best to spare you of the absurd amount of bad puns I’m bound to come up with, but no guarantees.

I haven’t quite figured out exactly where I’m going with this blog yet, but I guess we will find out. I do know that I definitely will be sharing lots of behind-the-lens adventures from the field, clubhouse, and the semi-normal life at the Sogard home, apartment, hotel, etc. Hope you enjoy.

Happy reading!
